Here’s another Weekly Camera installation for ya: The Polaroid Land Camera.
Precursor to the polaroid cameras that automatically shoot the photo out the front, these beasts are so cool. You pull the photo out the side by hand, time it, and peel the print off of the negative, revealing the finished product.
I’ve not had the chance to play with one of these in several years, but a co-worker of mine has one, and she’s lent it to me in exchange for fixing it up for her.
Shooting with it, I am reminded of how absolutely nothing beats the look and feel of an actual photographic print, developed by actual chemical process just moments prior to you gazing down at it. These scans do not do them justice.
